Why we built PGYatra
Running a PG or hostel involves much more than collecting rent. Every day brings tenant enquiries, room changes, pending payments, complaints, repairs, expenses and occupancy decisions.
When those details are spread across paper registers, spreadsheets and WhatsApp chats, even a simple task takes longer. PGYatra brings the daily work together so you can find what you need and act quickly.
Who the app is for
PGYatra is designed for independent PG owners, hostel owners, property managers and growing teams. It works for men's PGs, ladies' PGs, student hostels and co-living spaces.
Whether you manage one small property or several locations, the same simple workflow helps you stay organised without needing complicated software or lengthy training.
Simple tenant onboarding
Keep each tenant's contact details, joining date, room or bed, rent amount and other useful records in one profile. Existing tenant lists can be imported from Excel.
For new tenants, share a joining form through WhatsApp. Review the submitted details before adding the tenant to your PG or hostel.
Rooms and beds made clear
Create rooms in bulk, add beds, choose AC or Non-AC room types and set the rent for each room or bed. Assign tenants without losing track of available space.
See vacant, partially occupied and fully occupied rooms clearly, making it easier to answer enquiries and plan new admissions.
Rent records without confusion
A fresh rent register is created automatically every month for active tenants. Mark rent as Paid, Partial or Pending, add partial payments and see the remaining balance.
Monthly summaries show how much rent has been recorded and what is still outstanding. PGYatra keeps the records organised while you continue collecting rent directly from your tenants.
Expenses under control
Record maintenance, groceries, salaries, repairs, electricity and other everyday costs. Group expenses by category, monitor monthly spending and set budgets for better control.
Simple reports help you understand where the money goes and give you a clearer view of how each PG or hostel is performing.
Complaints properly tracked
Tenant complaints stay in one list with clear status updates, so issues do not disappear inside calls and chat messages. Track each complaint from Open to In Progress to Resolved.
This gives your team a clear view of what needs attention, what is being handled and what has already been completed.
Important contacts always ready
Save trusted plumbers, electricians, cleaners, cooks, security staff and other service providers in one organised contact directory.
Call or open WhatsApp directly when help is needed. There is no need to search through your phonebook or old conversations during an urgent repair.
Better communication
Share tenant joining forms, prepare rent reminders and communicate important updates through WhatsApp. Messages are reviewed and sent from your own number, keeping communication direct and familiar.
You spend less time copying details between apps and more time responding to tenants and running the property.
A clear view of your business
Dashboards bring together occupancy, rent status, income records, outstanding amounts and expenses. Instead of guessing, you can see what is happening across the property.
Export tenant details, rent records and expenses to Excel for reporting, reconciliation or offline records. If you manage multiple PGs or hostels, switch between them from one account while keeping every property's data separate.
Made for the way Indian PGs and hostels work
PGYatra supports the details that matter in day-to-day accommodation management, including bed-based occupancy, monthly rent records, room types, tenant joining, WhatsApp communication and property-level reporting. Your records are stored in the cloud and synchronised so you can manage your property from your supported devices wherever work takes you.
The goal is simple: spend less time maintaining registers and chasing information, and more time looking after tenants, improving occupancy and growing your PG or hostel business.
